Subject:A letter to my blubber
Time:11:00 pm
Dear blubber,

You have treated me well over the past few months. All my internal organs have stayed warm and cozy and I'm very thankful! However, I feel like it's time for us to part ways. The warm weather will be here soon and I just don't have room for you to stay. I'm sure we'll meet again around Christmastime. Thanks again for your service and best of luck to you in finding a new residence!

Best,

Ashley

Subject:Good cookies
Time:07:43 pm
I have been experimenting with the basic Joy of Cooking chocolate chip cookie dough recipe lately. It is nice because it makes a smaller batch than most recipes.

Here is the basic idea:

Cream 1 stick of butter w/ 1/2 cup of brown and white sugar
Add an egg, a pinch of salt, vanilla
Add 1 cup + 2 tbspns flour and 1 1/2 tsps baking soda

There are a lot of great things you can do with this basic road map. For example, using 1/4 cup butter and 1/4 cup (or a little more) almond butter. They are also great with a cup or cup and a half of oats added. Other additions: cocoa powder (at the egg, salt, vanilla stage), almonds, dried cranberries and, of course, chocolate chips/white chocolate/butterscotch. Oh, coconut too. I use whole wheat flour for everything and don't notice any negative impact on taste or texture

I am a Jess Choteau Outstanding Senior.

And, despite what some individuals might say, I deserve it.
